Using Article Content In RSS Feeds And Blog Posts

Articles from article directories are a great source of content, however with the more recent Google Panda changes, the value of unique content is becoming more important.

The best solution or strategy for building a website today is to focus on using unique content for your website, and utilising syndicated articles for RSS and Blogs.

Blogs

Your blog is really just a teaser to the main article on your site. You can be less formal in your writing and use this channel to encourage visitors to your site to dig deeper into the main site content, then return to the blog to make comments. Use a “Read More” link to take the reader to the main article web page - where the complete article is the sole content, along with highly targeted product advertisements.

In addition, it is expected that most site pages now how social media sharing and book marking capabilities. This is a great way to drive more interest, and more traffic to your site.

RSS

RSS readers are incorporated into most email programs today. They enable visitors to direct content of interest directly to their device in a push model, rather than having to return to your website. Whilst this may keep users engaged in your content, it does have a negative impact on readers visiting your site.

The solution to this is to use the same strategy as your blog - include only a brief description in the RSS feed, with the main content page fully integrated into your website.

However, at this point you must provide the complete article - don’t be tempted to just give them part of the article, it’s the quickest way to get them to unsubscribe.
